Career Planning Design Methods for Graduates

Leaving the ivory tower and entering the society, the first step for the graduates is to make a scientific and rational plan for their career. The director of Beijing College Graduates Career Guidance Center, Zhan Zhong pointed out that career life designing should be combined with the subjective and objective conditions as the following 4 steps:

Determine the intentions:
To determine a clear career direction is the first step for graduates to enter the society. A clear direction is the prerequisite for successful career . To determine what you really want ,and then work hard ,following the direction.

Accurate self-assessment and analysis of objective conditions:
For the career planning of college students, it's quite important to make an accurate self-positioning, which should not only be considered by the graduates facing with "the finishing touch ".All the college students should pay attention to this aspect. Self-assessment should include interests, personality, skills, expertise, ways of thinking and so on, and should be combined with the evaluation by others.As for external condition aspect, we should consider the social environment,including a variety of the vocational environment and the organizational environment. We should pay attention to the characteristics,development and changes of environmental conditions, also the relationship between ourselves and the environment, and the favorable and unfavorable factors of the environment to ourselves.Only modify the degree of harmony between ourselves and the objective conditions, can we seek advantage and avoid disadvantage in our career planning to make our career planning more practical.

Rational career objective:
Under current employment environment, when determining our career objective, we should avoid too high and too hasty and ensure the objective moderate. At the same time , the objective should not be too high or too low. Also we should combine the short-term goal with the long-term goal:continuously achieving the short-term goal to achieve the long-term goal.

Make an action plan, assess the measures, and conduct assessment, feedback and adjustment:
After setting the career development objective, we need to set a series of development plans to ensure the ultimate goal attained.During the development process of career, changes often happen.Considering the factors which affect the career planning, assessment and amendment of the career planning is quite necessary. The amendment could include the job re-selection, the career route re-selection, the amendment of the life goal, and the changes of the implementation measures and plan.
